Learn to make yourself a pair of durable, comfortable, custom-to-your-feet leather sandals! No experience is necessary - Stace Fulwiler will walk you through the entire process. We will be using leather soles, a stacked leather heel, and leather uppers. All tools, materials, and supplies are provided. You will be able to walk out of class wearing your newly made sandals! We will use Stace's pre-made templates and patterns for several different sandal designs that are easy for beginners to master. From these designs, you will use your own feet (and design sensibilities) to determine the color, strap width & placement, and any modifications.

In the process of making your sandals, you will also learn basic leather-working techniques and you will become familiar with essential shoemaking tools. You’ll go home with an outline of the sandal making process and a list of resources and suppliers, allowing you to continue sandal making after the workshop if you so desire. Join us for a day of working with your hands to make something beautiful and utilitarian; sandals you can wear for years to come! Some of you might finish a little earlier or a little later; we will take about 30 minutes for a lunch break. What to Bring: Working hands and outfits! Bring a water bottle and snacks to keep you going. We will work outside with the glue & the belt sander so bring sun protection if you like. It’s best if you wear sandals since we will be getting barefoot frequently.
