Sandal Making Workshop at Sarah Owen Studio, Saturday October 7, 2017

200.00

Summer is winding down yet there are still sandal wearing days ahead! Join me in my last sandal making workshop of the season at the beautiful Sarah Owen Studio, an airy and bright loft right off Piedmont Avenue.  I taught two workshops here at the beginning of summer and we all loooooooved working in this inspiring space.  No experience is necessary, and this workshop is for you if you would like an introduction to shoe making or simply would like to spend a day working with your hands, learning a new craft while creating something wearable.  This is your chance to make the sandal of your dreams....

Over the course of the workshop, I'll walk you through making a pair of leather sandals that are customised to your foot and your design preferences.  The workshop is limited to 6 students to allow for plenty of individual attention.  The styles on my website are a good reference to the types of sandals you can expect to create, though modifications and customizations are always welcome!  I'll bring many different leather colors and textures & buckles and rivets to choose from. If you want to continue sandal making beyond the class, I can direct you to several local resources to help you get started.

After class you will have created your very own self-made pair of sandals!  I'll take them to my studio to finish the edges, and they will be ready for pickup about an hour after class ends or on the following day.  My studio is located steps away from the MacArthur Bart station at 644 40th street.
